Fancy a surf on the Moray Firth? Sandend’s curving sandy bay is one of the better-known breaks on this coast, backed by a huddle of old fishing cottages. It’s a lovely beach for a plain walk too, whatever the swell is doing. Portsoy is the next village along. No station near, so you’ll need to drive.
