Open accessNational Trust land — free to wander
Marsden Moor is a sweep of wild Pennine moorland above the Colne Valley — an unfenced National Trust estate of gritstone edges, cloughs and reservoirs, with old packhorse routes and part of the Pennine Way crossing it. The village of Marsden and its station sit right at the foot, so you can step off the train and straight onto the hill. Good boots and a map are advised; it’s also the walking route to Standedge Tunnel.
