Delph is a handsome stone village in the Saddleworth hills, set where several valleys meet in the upper Tame. Old mills, packhorse bridges and weavers’ cottages line the streets, with the moors rising close behind for walks. It has a good few independent shops and pubs, and takes part in the Whit Friday brass-band contests each summer. Greenfield station is about 3km to the south. Dobcross and Uppermill are next door.
