Dobcross is a gem of a Saddleworth village, its weavers’ cottages packed tightly around a steep, cobbled square. The whole place is a conservation area and has stood in for period film sets, including the 1979 film ‘Yanks’. It’s a short, pretty walk or drive from Uppermill and Delph. Greenfield station is about 2km to the south.
