Uppermill is the busiest of the Saddleworth villages, its main street lined with independent shops, cafés and pubs and the Huddersfield Narrow Canal running alongside. There’s a local history museum and art gallery, plus boat trips and towpath walks heading off towards the moors. It makes a good base for the whole Saddleworth area, with Dobcross, Delph and Diggle all close by. Greenfield station is about 1km to the south-west.
