The small downland church at Berwick is worth a stop for its wall murals, painted in the early 1940s by the Bloomsbury artists Duncan Grant and Vanessa and Quentin Bell, who lived nearby at Charleston. It’s usually open daily. Berwick station is about 2km to the north-east.
