Wilmington sits below the Long Man of Wilmington, the huge chalk hill figure cut into the Downs above. The village has the ruins of a Benedictine priory and an ancient yew in the churchyard, reckoned to be well over a thousand years old. It’s on the South Downs Way, just south of Alfriston. Berwick station is about 3km to the north-west.
