Jevington is a downland village of flint cottages with a Saxon-towered church, set in a fold of the hills and long tied to smuggling stories. Its other claim to fame is banoffee pie, invented in 1971 at the village’s Hungry Monk restaurant (long since closed). Polegate is the nearest station, about 4km to the north-east.
