St Mary's Church, Croscombe
Step in for the woodwork: Croscombe’s church is filled with Jacobean carved oak of 1616 — a soaring rood screen, a pulpit and its sounding board, box pews and the Stuart royal arms, all of national renown. The church sits in the Mendip-edge village of Croscombe between Wells and Shepton Mallet, open to visitors. Castle Cary station is about 12km south.
