Up on the Mendip plateau at Priddy, the Queen Victoria Inn is a stone pub with flagstone floors, log fires and high beamed ceilings — the sort of place walkers pile into after a day on the hills. Ivy-clad outside, warm within, and open to all with food served. A good landmark to aim for on a long Mendip round.
