St Mary’s 110-foot tower has warned sailors off the treacherous Happisburgh sands for centuries, second in height on this coast only to Cromer. The flint-panelled west tower still stands over the crumbling clifftop, its churchyard holding memorials to drowned crews. Open access in Happisburgh; North Walsham station is about 10km west.
