St Nicholas at Grosmont is far larger than the village around it — a reminder that Grosmont was once a busy medieval borough, one of the Three Castles towns strung along the Monnow. The 13th-century church has a broad, aisled nave and stands close to the mound of Grosmont Castle. Its neighbour at Skenfrith makes a natural second stop. Abergavenny station is about 15km south-west.
