A motte-and-bailey castle once stood here — today it survives as earthworks in Northamptonshire. The Albion Guide lists 13 motte-and-bailey castles in the county; this is one of them. For arrivals by rail, Kings Sutton Station is 8.7 km to the west. Other castles nearby include Astwell Castle and Deddington Castle.
