A motte-and-bailey castle once stood here — today it survives as earthworks in Oxfordshire. It is one of five motte-and-bailey castles the Albion Guide maps in the county. The surrounding countryside is part of the Cotswolds National Landscape. The nearest railway station, Ascott-under-Wychwood, is under a kilometre away.
Full name: Ascott d'Oyley 12th century motte and bailey castle and associated earthworks
