Hopeman’s sheltered little beach is lined with rows of brightly painted wooden bathing huts, privately owned and much photographed. It’s a cheerful, family-friendly spot; walk east along the shore and you reach the sandstone Clashach caves. Free and open, about 10km from Elgin.
