Between the Lyth Valley and the edge of Morecambe Bay, Witherslack is a quiet limestone village with damson orchards all around. The Derby Arms is the hub — a village pub with rooms, good for a meal after a wander through the nearby mosses and low limestone woods, which are excellent for birds and wildflowers. Arnside station is about 5km to the south-east across the estuary.
