Weobley is the showpiece of the black-and-white trail — a wide, funnel-shaped green lined with crooked, close-timbered houses, several of them medieval cruck-framed halls. Above the roofs rises the spire of St Peter and St Paul, at 185 feet the second tallest in Herefordshire. It’s a village for slow wandering rather than ticking off sights, with a few pubs and tea rooms around the green. Leominster station is about 12km to the north-east.
