The world’s largest water-powered cuckoo clock lives here, in an oak tower that chimes on the hour with everything driven by flowing water. Richard Pim began Westonbury Mill’s five acres of water gardens in 1969 and filled them with home-built follies, among them a domed grotto glittering with some 5,000 coloured bottles and a tower that spouts water from gargoyles. It sits just outside Pembridge. Open through the season with an admission charge, and there’s a café. Leominster station is roughly 13km east.
