Wedmore sits on a low ‘Isle’ rising above the Levels near Wells, an old market village with a fine church tower and a summer real-ale festival. Cider is made round about — Wilkins Cider, a famously traditional farm, is on the edge of the parish. Highbridge & Burnham-on-Sea station is about 11km to the west.
