Silverdale sits in a lovely tangle of low limestone hills, woods and salt marsh on the Lancashire edge of the Arnside & Silverdale AONB. It’s ringed by nature reserves - RSPB Leighton Moss is close, famous for its bitterns and marsh harriers - and paths lead down to a quiet, rocky shore on Morecambe Bay. Great walking, birdwatching and pottering country. The station is right in the village.
