Tiree’s main village, Scarinish sits by its old harbour near both the ferry pier and the island’s little airport. Tiree is famously flat and windswept, and one of the sunniest places in Britain - one of the best spots in the country for windsurfing, with an annual wave-riding competition. Reach it on the CalMac ferry from Oban, or by a short flight from Glasgow.
