A two-mile arc of pale shell-sand along the north coast of Tiree, backed by low machair. Just along the shore sits the Ringing Stone, a big glacial boulder that gives a metallic clang when you strike it. Balephetrish is reached off the B8069, and like the rest of Tiree it takes a CalMac ferry from Oban (or the short flight) to get here in the first place.
