Kilbarchan kept much of its character as an old handloom-weaving village, including a preserved 18th-century weaver’s cottage with a loom still set up inside. At the Steeple, built in 1755, stands a statue of Habbie Simpson, the town piper celebrated in an old Scots poem. Milliken Park station is under 2km to the south-east.
