Ingleton is best known for its Waterfalls Trail, a ticketed circular walk of about four miles that threads a string of falls through two wooded river gorges — the finest short waterfall walk in the Dales. The village sits below Ingleborough and Whernside, and the show cave at White Scar is a couple of miles up the road. A tall Victorian railway viaduct strides over the middle of the village.
