A former farmhouse and drovers’ inn at Chapel-le-Dale, the Old Hill Inn stands between Ingleborough and Whernside, right on the Three Peaks route, and has a big reputation for its food. Warm fires and generous plates make it a fine place to refuel mid-walk. Worth checking opening days before you count on it. Ribblehead station is under 3km to the north-east.
