Thornton Force is the highlight of the Ingleton Waterfalls Trail, where the River Twiss pours in a broad white sheet over a step in the rock. It’s the most photographed fall on the circuit — a walk on private land with an entrance fee, following the wooded Twiss and Doss valleys on made paths and steps (a few miles round, with some steady climbing). Good boots and a few hours do it justice. Bentham station is about 7km to the south-west.
