Come in early spring and Farndale fills with wild daffodils — shorter-stemmed ‘Lent lilies’ said to have been planted by monks, lining the River Dove for miles. The much-loved daffodil walk runs between the hamlets of Low Mill and Church Houses and draws tens of thousands of visitors each Easter. Out of season it’s a quiet farming dale. Hutton-le-Hole lies over the moor to the east.
