Marooned on Blakey Ridge with the moor rolling away on every side, the Lion Inn is the highest pub on the North York Moors and one of the oldest, dating back some four centuries. Open fires, low beams and long views down into Rosedale and Farndale make it a real landmark for walkers on the Coast to Coast. Food and rooms; Castleton Moor is the nearest station.
