Chosen as the emblem of the North York Moors National Park, Ralph Cross is a tall medieval stone cross standing alone on the high moor watershed above Rosedale. It’s one of a scatter of old waymark and boundary crosses up here, set right beside the road over Blakey Ridge, so you can reach it without much of a walk. Bleak and windswept, but that’s rather the appeal.
