Approximate location — this spot is pinned to the nearest village, so the exact point may be a little way off.

Come to Farndale in early spring and the riverside path between Low Mill and Church Houses runs through drifts of wild daffodils — smaller and paler than the garden kind, and looked after as a local nature reserve. It’s an easy walk of a mile or so along the River Dove, busiest on April weekends. Time your visit for late March into April, because the flowers are what you’re here for.
