Kirkbymoorside is a small market town on the southern edge of the moors, its old streets climbing gently toward the high tops and the road up into Farndale. There’s a weekly market, a scatter of independent shops and pubs, and quick access to walking country. It makes a workaday base rather than a sight in itself. Malton is the nearest station, well to the south-east.
