Nunnington Hall is a stone manor above the River Rye, largely rebuilt in the 1680s by Richard Graham on older Tudor foundations, with further Arts and Crafts-era work added by the Fife family in the 1920s. The best surprise is upstairs: an attic room of miniature furnished rooms, the Carlisle Collection. Outside, an eight-acre walled garden runs down to the river, with peacocks wandering the lawns. National Trust since 1952, it opens most days from February to December, with an admission charge. Harome is a short walk northwest.
