Danby is a scattered Esk Valley village that works well as a gateway to the moors. The national park’s main visitor hub, the Moors National Park Centre, sits just outside it with waymarked trails, a café and exhibitions on moorland life. Danby station is a few minutes’ walk away on the Esk Valley Line, and Castleton is the next stop up the dale.
