Most walkers come to Dorstone for what stands above it. Arthur’s Stone, a Neolithic chamber tomb over 5,000 years old, sits on the ridge over this Golden Valley village, its great capstone propped on standing slabs. The village below, under the last of the Welsh hills, has a green, an old church and a pub. Hereford station is a fair way off, about 20km east.
