Burnham Market is the smartest of the seven Burnhams strung along this corner of the coast, its long green lined with Georgian houses and independent shops. The Hoste Arms has been its social hub for years. Nelson was born a couple of miles inland at Burnham Thorpe, where his father was the rector.
