Named after Sir William Hoste, one of Nelson’s captains, this seventeenth-century inn faces the green in Burnham Market. Nelson himself is said to have collected his dispatches here when it was still the Pitt Arms. It’s grown into the village’s social hub since — hotel, restaurant and bar behind one handsome frontage — and stays busy year-round.
