A quiet Malhamdale village around a green, Airton sits on the Pennine Way a few miles below Malham. It has a former Quaker meeting house and a farm shop that’s handy for walkers stocking up. Hellifield station is about 5km west. Airton makes a calmer base than Malham itself when the honeypot village fills up on summer weekends.
