West Kirby Marine Lake is a big saltwater lake on the Dee front, kept topped up by the tide and ringed by a wide promenade. It’s a hub for sailing, windsurfing and paddleboarding, with hire and lessons available, and a good flat walk around the edge for everyone else. Beyond it the sands stretch out towards Hilbre Island. The lake is right by West Kirby station, barely two minutes from the platform.
