Approximate location — this spot is pinned to the nearest village, so the exact point may be a little way off.

Caldy Hill is a wooded National Trust knoll above the village of Caldy, topped with heath, gorse and a stone beacon that once guided ships into the Dee. Follow the paths up through the pines and you’re rewarded with a lovely outlook across the estuary to the Welsh hills beyond. It’s an easy climb and a favourite local viewpoint. West Kirby and its station are just over a kilometre to the north-west.
