The Faith Museum
Local highlightApproximate location — this spot is pinned to the nearest village, so the exact point may be a little way off.
The Faith Museum, part of the Auckland Project at Bishop Auckland, tells the story of belief in Britain across some 6,000 years through around 250 objects, from Bronze Age gold to modern art. It opened in 2023 in a restored wing beside the historic Auckland Palace. There’s an admission charge, often bundled with the wider Auckland Project attractions. The station is barely a kilometre off, and it pairs neatly with an evening at Kynren in summer.
