Kynren is an outdoor night spectacular staged on a vast open-air set near Bishop Auckland, racing through 2,000 years of English history and legend with a cast and crew of well over a thousand local volunteers, live horses and pyrotechnics. It runs on summer evenings only and you’ll need tickets in advance. Dress warm — it’s a late finish in the open air. Bishop Auckland station is about 1.5km away, and The Faith Museum is worth pairing with it in the same town.
