Mull Aquarium on Tobermory’s waterfront was Europe’s first catch-and-release aquarium: creatures are gathered from local waters, shown for a few weeks, then returned to the sea. It’s a community-run place showing off the crabs, fish and other sea life of the Hebrides, and makes a good rainy hour with children. Down at Ledaig in Tobermory — worth checking it’s open before you make a special trip.
