Tobermory is Mull’s only whisky distillery, sitting at the foot of the hill by the island’s famously painted harbour. Founded in 1798, it bottles two malts — the unpeated Tobermory and the heavily peated Ledaig. There’s a visitor centre and tours, easy to fold into a wander round Tobermory itself. Book ahead in season, when the little town gets busy with ferry traffic.
