Imperial War Museum Duxford
Local highlightApproximate location — this spot is pinned to the nearest village, so the exact point may be a little way off.
Duxford flew Spitfires in the Battle of Britain, and the airfield is still intact, now Europe’s largest air museum. Seven big hangars hold close to 200 aircraft, from First World War biplanes to Concorde and Cold War jets, and flying displays take to the air on show days. Paid entry. Whittlesford Parkway station is about 3km east, and the John Barleycorn in Duxford is a good pub for after.
