Book ahead for a tasting or a make-your-own-gin session: the Cambridge Distillery, based in Grantchester just south of the city, builds its gins around foraged and unusual botanicals. It’s a small operation with a big reputation among gin makers, better known for its experiments than for a large visitor set-up, so everything runs by appointment. Cambridge South station is a couple of kilometres north.
