Scotland's longest enclosed glen.
Running west from Fortingall, Glen Lyon is a long, winding Highland glen, often called the longest enclosed glen in Scotland. A single-track road threads its whole length past the river, old bridges and scattered farms, climbing eventually towards the Ben Lawers hills. It’s free to explore, but the road is slow and passing-place work, so give yourself a proper half-day rather than a quick loop.
