A stretch of Roman road once stood here — today it survives as earthworks in Derbyshire. It is one of four stretches of Roman road the Albion Guide lists in the county. The surrounding countryside is part of the Peak District National Park. For arrivals by rail, Dove Holes Station is 6.1 km to the west.
