Foolow gathers around a village green with a duck pond, a medieval cross and an iron bull ring once used for the grim sport of bull-baiting. It’s one of the neatest of the White Peak villages, a compact huddle of limestone cottages away from the main roads. The Bull’s Head faces the green.
