Welney is a WWT reserve on the Ouse Washes, the flooded grazing land between the Fenland rivers. Come on a winter afternoon for the swan feeds: thousands of Bewick’s and whooper swans gather on the water, floodlit as a warden scatters grain from the heated main hide. Warmer months bring waders, dragonflies and wildflower walks instead. Paid entry, beside the village of Welney.
