The Scotia Bar, near the river off Stockwell Street, is one of Glasgow’s oldest pubs, a low-ceilinged, wood-panelled howff said to date from 1792 and long a haunt of folk musicians, poets and writers. Live music and spoken-word nights still fill the place. Argyle Street station is a couple of minutes to the north.
